On Monday, the Chairman presided over the local government Peace and Security meeting. The focus was on the issues of National Security and its impact the grassroot government. The essence of having a peaceful coexistence was intensively discussed.
The Chairman also recieved the Executive Governor of Abia State Dr Victor Okezie Ikpeazu, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. ACB Agbazuere at the council headquarters. The meeting was on a one day Security Sensitization Workshop, where he tasked the people to remain security conscious while assuring maximum synergy with security agencies in tackling issues of insecurity at the grassroot.
On Wednesday, Dr. Ukiwe also received in audience Ohafia PDP women leaders in his office. The interaction was centered on collaboration between the women of the local government and government.
Still on that platform, the chairman also inaugurated an 8 man Supervisory councillors and tasked them on performance and transparency.
The Chairman also recieved in audience council staff from Abiriba who congratulated him on his election victory and also presented a portrait to the Chairman.
The Chairman also attended day 3 of the training of the 20 man local government task force committee on Internally Generated Revenue. The aim is to boost the revenue profile and fast-track its socio-economic development.
