An Abia born philanthropist and PDP stalwart, Dr. Desmond Chima Anyaso has sent his heartfelt condolences to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and Abians in general on the double tragedy and demise of the widows of the former Premier of the defunct Eastern Region, Dr. Michael Okpara, Lady Adanma Okpara and that of Nigeria’s first Military Head of State General Aguiyi Ironsi, Lady Victoria Aguiyi Ironsi both of whom died at the age of 97 years in a quick succession within two days.

Dr. Anyaso in a release expressed huge shock on the development describing the coincidence of the death of the two most prominent women in Igbo land as most unfortunate and monumental loss. He said, the support of the duo of widows of the great Igbo leaders brought about the unparalleled successes recorded by their husbands as leaders at various levels and times in Nigeria. According to him, they too maintained such leadership style among the Igbo women and most especially, the Abia women, hence they would be greatly missed.

The Igbere born philanthropist regretted that the death of these noble women has robbed Abia State and Ndị Igbo of their Amazon and icons of inestimable value whose place in the history of Ndị Igbo are irreplaceable. He advised other women leaders to emulate such beautiful and calm lives of the deceased women and contribute to the development of the State and society at large.

Dr. Desmond Chima Anyaso on behalf of his family, management and staff of…
