The Inner wheel club of Umungasi Aba District 914, Nigeria on Sunday 24th November 2021,held the induction ceremony of it’s newest club President IWM Ngozi Orji. The event which was well attended was held at Enitona Hotel, Aba Abia State.

The President of the club, described the club which was officially formed in Manchester by Mrs Oliver Golding in 1924 as a worldwide philanthropic organisation of wives, female relatives and friends of Rotarians. She further said that this year’s theme which is “PINK FIRST” simply implies “Women helping Women”.

IWM Ngozi while presenting the club’s most valuable Award as GREAT PILLAR OF SERVICE TO HUMANITY to Amb. Chief Dr Nzeribe Okegbue described him as a God sent and a born Humanitarian/ Philanthropist who has continued to offer help to widows, orphans and down trodden in the society. The citation of Dr.Okegbue,the only male award recipient at the ceremony which was read out, hilighted many of his achievements and good works.

Responding after receiving the Award, Dr. Nzeribe Okegbue who is also a Security Expert and a renowned Estate Developer, thanked the members of Inner Wheel Club of Umungasi especially the new president for the honour bestowed on him which he highly appreciates and promised to continue towing the path of humanitarianism as he has been called by God to do so. He further used the opportunity to congratulate the newly inducted president IWM Ngozi Orji, and wished her a successful tenure. He also noted the importance of women in our world, and the need for women to work hard to occupy leadership positions as they are better managers of scarce resources. Dr.Nzeribe Okegbue also spoke against abuse of women in the Society and encouraged them to be united to fight against their abusers.

Highlights of the event was the induction of new members, presentation of awards,empowerment of widows and some young girls.

Many dignitaries attended the event which include Sir Okey Oji, Rear Admiral Raphael Osondu, Obike Imo Mascot.
