Hon Acho Ojukwu, yesterday in a well event attended by relevant stakeholders in Urban Ward 3 in Umuahia North Local Government Area formally declared his ambition to represent the good people of Umuahia Central State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly.
Speaking to the stakeholders, Hon Acho said he was particularly delighted that they honoured his invitation, he thanked them immensely for coming.
The Ohuhu born political leader said his ambition is a call for responsibility and service, stating that he dedicated himself to represent the people of Umuahia Central State Constituency after due and wide consultations.
He enumerated on his long service and loyalty to the party having served the People’s Democratic Party diligently for over twenty four (24) years, Hon Ojukwu said he holds the enviable record of delivering the highest number of votes casted during an election in Urban Ward 3 of Umuahia Central Constituency.
He harped on the need for the stakeholders to support a candidate with large followership and one who is reliable and credible because the new Electoral Amendment Act recently signed into Law by the President clearly signifies that the era of election malpractice in our climes is gone and the reason he has presented himself to serve.
He pleaded with the stakeholders to support him, promising that if elected, dividends of democracy will surely get to the door step of every one in his constituency.
Some stakeholders that responded described Hon Ojukwu as a gentle, loyal, passionate and accommodating personality who has been instrumental to the success recorded by the party in the area over the years, they commended him for his generosity and benevolence to the people of Ward 3 especially during the time Covid-19 pandemic ravaged the world.
They described his ambition as a call from God because Hon Ojukwu have done tremendously well and it is time for them to pay him back with their collective support.
Afterwards a special prayer was offered to Hon Ojukwu.
Hon Ojukwu had earlier presented his Nomination and Expression of Interest form he obtained for Umuahia Central State Constituency election to the stakeholders.
The deputy leader of Urban Ward 3 stakeholders, Sir Emeka Opara, Chairman of the party in the ward, Hon Augustine Ibeh, Hon Benard Ibezim, Women and Youth leaders of the ward and other stakeholders of the ward attended the event.
Hon Acho Ojukwu was the state coordinator of Ochendo Equity Movement a foremost political structure in the state, he is also the founder and coordinator of Ikuku Angels Initiative, another formidable women structure in the State.
