Chiamaka Foundation, a non-governmental organisation has donated books and other writing materials to pupils of Nde Aku Primary School, Nde Aku Ohafia, Ohafia local government area of Abia state.
A statement by the NGO’s Founder, Chief Mrs Amaka Mba Olobor, noted that the charity organisation’s decision to donate to the school followed the lack of basic social amenities in the community.
According to her, “Nde Aku Primary School is the only school in this community that was built just few years ago after decades of abandonment by successive governments.”
She said the NGO was birthed to reachout to the downtrodden, especially women and children.
“The whole aim of setting up this foundation is to give back to the community
“With the right education and exposure, children from underserved communities can become great, have dreams and fulfill them.
“So, our mandate is to empower as many women and children as possible, in order to meet immediate needs, give them a voice and tools to contribute to the wellbeing of the society. “It is our belief that by helping each other, we all rise,” she said.
