The Deputy Chairman of Ikwuano Local Government Area, Hon. Cokey Lordson Nwachukwu today declared his interest to represent the good People of Ikwuano State Constituency at the AStatetate House of Assembly come 2023.
Hon Cokey who made the declaration at his ward, Ibere Ward 2 said he is making himself available because he is qualified, fit and competent to be a voice for his people and also bring home, the needed change and development that will take Ikwuano to a more lofty height in all sectors of the economy.
“I have the desire to represent Ikwuano State Constituency in the Abia state house of Assembly. Therefore, I present myself to you and appeal for your support and prayers that will make the project a dream come true. I will bring
quality and effective Representation. I will protect and defend the interest and needs of Ikwuano People at the State level. I will empower our women, youth and our fathers, and will also sponsor bills that will affect and touch the lives life of my people positively. I have been here with you since 2014 I joined politics and everything I have gotten, I always share with you, I don’t have money but I have you people and count on your support and your vote”, he added.
In his speech, the former Aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party for Ikwuano State Constituency during the 2019 General Election, Chief Sunny Chigbu expressed joy and lauded the bold step taken by Hon Cokey Nwachukwu, to represent the good people of Ikwuano State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly. He also made it clear that he has no intention to run for the State House of Assembly again, to pave way for the younger and energetic people like Cokey to run.
Also speaking, Chief Ibelachi urged the party Delegates in Ibere ward 2 to reach out to other delegates and convince people to support Hon. Cokey Nwachukwu.
In the same vein, the LGA treasurer of the party, Mrs Ijeoma Oriaku described the aspiration of Hon Cokey as a divine Mandate and promised to take the message to the LGA level of the party in the local government.
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of nomination and expression of interest forms before the party leaders of Ibere ward 2 by Hon. Cokey Nwachukwu.
