2023: Isiukwuato PDP Delegates Endorse Professor Ikonne


Stakeholders and delegates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Isiukwuato Local Government of Abia State have endorsed Professor Uche Ikonne as their sole candidate, ahead of the May 23rd PDP Gubernitoral primaries and 2023 Abia Gubernatorial elections.

The Delegation led by the Local Government Chairman Hon. Chima Agbaeze,  made this known during a solidarity visit to Professor Ikonne at his Umuahia residence.

Speaking during the visit, the Local Government Party Chairman, Chief Charles Emenike, PhD,  said ” we have come with one voice to tell the world that Isiukwuato  delegates have today may 20, 2022,  declared their total support for Prof. Ikonne and his Abia Guber Aspirations”.

In their separate speeches, Hon. Eric Ikwuagwu, Hon Henry Agbaeze, Hon. Emeka Ikwuagwu and Mrs Joy Ekekwe, expressed confidence in the person of Professor Ikonne who they attest to his ingenuity in leadership, as experienced in the leadership positions he has held.
They further described Professor Ikonne as a principled leader, with right focus and public service credentials to lead Abia at a critical time when the nation needs experienced, skilful, stable hands at the helm.

Addressing the delegates, the leading PDP aspirant, Professor Uche Ikonne thanked them for their thoughtfulness and reminded them that he aspires to consolidate the gains of the past leaders, as to put the state on a faster lane of development.

In his remarks, the Director-General of Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organization, Rt. Hon. Chindeum Elechi, thanked the Isukwuato delegates for their loyalty to the party, which according to him, was why they were found worthy to hold various offices at the wards and local government chapters.
He noted the critical role delegates play in party politics and assured them that his principal would continue to make them relevant in the politics of the state when he emerges as governor.

The visit attracted the presence of Chief Chris Odinaka Igwe, Chief Morris Abazie, Hon. D.K Uduma, Rev. Benson Ezem, among other dignitaries.
