The death of Mrs Chidiebere Iloka, the wife of the suspended TC chairman of Nnewi North LGA has continued to generate controversy. Yesterday the state govt issued a strong worded press release and distanced herself from the fake autopsy result in circulation.
The state govt in a released signed by 3 commissioners also withdrew from the autopsy exercise and ordered police to begin an investigation of domestic violence, homicide and murder on the death of Mrs Iloka.
The latest position of the APGA led govt of Prof Soludo did not go down well with Hon Chris Emeka Azubogu, the candidate of APGA for Anambra south senatorial zone. Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Hon Azubogu dared Prof Soludo to release the autopsy report of the pathologists who represented the state govt instead of discrediting the one in circulation.
The SSA Media to Hon Azubogu went further to question the interest of the governor on the death of Mrs Iloka. Reacting to the press statement by the state govt, Azubogu said, “Mr Governor, …your press statement is funny. If you said that the family pathologist released a preliminary report without waiting for you to release the main report, why not release the main report.”
He went further to ask the governor why the press statement from the state govt stated that MbaMba was beating his wife which likely led to her death claiming that such was never part of what the governor’s team in autopsy exercise was sent to do.
“Mr Governor, …you are now talking about the alleged and unproven allegation that the man (MbaMba) was beating his wife which was not part of what your team was sent for.”
Concluding his attack on Gov Soludo, the SSA Media to Mr Project indicted the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Ify Obinabo.
Azubogu therefore rejected the position of the state on the death of Mrs Iloka alleging that the Commissioner for Women Affairs has compromised.
“Mr Governor, …the fact that the Commissioner of Women Affairs who without investigation indicted the man (MbaMba) through video interview is a signatory to this publication, has made a mess of the entire press release.”
Recall that when Hon Chris Azubogu defected to APC during the Anambra state governorship election, he nomination his SSA Media, Ikechukwu Emeka Onyia as the Deputy Spokesperson of the APC Anambra state governorship Campaign Organization.
He was used to launch all manner of attacks on Prof Soludo. When they defected to APGA to contest for senate, they also moved agaisnt Prof Soludo and ensured that his annointed candidate was not only defeated but the governor was thoroughly embarrassed.
They claimed the governor doesn’t know politics and won’t stop their ambition in APGA.
Now they have backed MbaMba, the suspended TC chairman of Nnewi North LGA against the Governor, rejecting the position of the state govt on the death of the Mrs Iloka and daring the governor.
The same Onyia was also used to accuse Prof Soludo of embezzling the money donated by his friends in 2009 to build a memorial hospital (Mgbafor & Mgbafor hospital) in Isuofia.
