The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia state Prof Eleazar Uche Ikonne has assured Abians that his Government if elected into office will Implement the contributory pension scheme which will stabilize the pension system in the state.
Prof Ikonne who was speaking while on an interactive section with members of Abia online Media Publishers In his campaign workstation Onyerubi close disclosed that his Administration will adopt the approach of the federal Government by implementing the contributory pension scheme in the state and also assured that his Government will pay the percentage required of them to sustain the scheme in the state and will not force any Pension manager on any worker, that workers will be allowed to choose their PFA’s.
On issues of workers welfare, he said “ Workers welfare will be a priority for me, for me to demand the best from our workers, I need to pay them as at when due.
