Former Governor of Imo state and Governorship Aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party in Imo state Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha has withdrawn from the race.
Hon Emeka who in his letter to the National Chairman of the Party, stated that he align himself to the request made by Imo state chapter of the party in producing a consensus candidate in the 2023 Imo PDP Primaries and in the interest of the party, he is withdrawing his aspiration and further participation towards the process of selecting who becomes the candidate of the Party Gubernatorial Candidate .
Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha has been on a Cold War with the National Secretary of the Party Senator Samuel Anyanwu on who controls the party structure and who produces the three man Adhoc delegate for the 2023 General Election and leading to the Imo Guber election holding in November later this year.
He was screened and cleared by the PDP screening committee for the Imo Governorship Primaries.
Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha was elected Governor of Imo state in the 9th of March 2019, he Governed the state for seven (7) months, before he was sacked by the Supreme Court on 14th of January 2020.
