Ahead of May 19th 2023 Local Government election in AbiaState, the battle is getting set in Isiala Ngwa South LGA of Abia State as former Accountant General of the State, Chief Sir G.C Onyendilefu, Nze B.O Ahuruonye and Chief OKwukwe Oriaku pick PDP expression of interest and nomination forms.
1. Chief Gabriel Onyendilefu is banking on his relationship with stakeholders both in the state and his local government to clinch the PDP ticket, having served as the state Accountant General and immediate past Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. He surely has the contact.
Nze B.O Ahuruonye is banking on his service to the PDP in Isiala Ngwa South, having sacrificed so many positions he should have occupied just to maintain peace in the local government and state level to clinch the ticket.
Chief Okwukwe Oriaku, popularly known as Aku Enwe Ebe or Nwanne Di N’mba hails from Owerrinta. He is relatively new in the contest and is running on the strength of the young people in the local government.
Chief Sir G C Onyendilefu looks like a clear favorite in the race.
