Embattled Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly Rt Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu has sued the Speaker, clerk, the Director of Finance of Abia State House of Assembly seeking an Exparte order against the management of the Abia State House of Assembly over unpaid allowances.
According to PUO Reports the Deputy Speaker in a Motion Ex Parte filed against the Clerk and Speaker of Abia House of Assembly at the Federal High Court Umuahia further asked the court to order the clerk of the House Sir Pedro Irokansi and the Director of Finance to pay him his entitlement as Deputy Speaker.
Rt Ifeanyi Uchendu who was agedly impeached as the Deputy Speaker of the House on the 2nd of May 2023 after he Presided over a failed impeachment on the Speaker Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji is also praying the court to nullify his removal as Deputy Speaker.
The speaker in an earlier interview granted to the press made it clear that the Deputy Speaker is owed some allowances but that it is not his right and only him the Speaker has the due right to decide who gets what he gets as it is not his statutory right.
The matter which came up on Thursday 25th May was not heard as the Court did not sit, we understand that the Judiciary in Abia state is on strike.
The Court adjourned the matter to 7th day of June 2023.
