Hostilities return next week in the Abia State House of Assembly as the tenure of the 7th Assembly official comes to an end today Friday 9th of June 2023, the 7th Assembly would have ended its Tenure on 10th but in the running of States Saturday are not work days only at the federal level where you can see workers go to work on Saturday.
The 7th Abia state House of Assembly has contributed its own quarter to the development of the state, the 7th Assembly led by Rt Hon Chinedum Orji had a smooth run from June 10th 2019 till around May 2023 when the house was factionalized with two speakers and two deputy speakers, but he concluded his tenure as speaker along side with his Deputy Rt Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu as recognized by the Administration of Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.
Rt Hon Orji joins the league of speakers in the history of the state to complete a full legislative tenure, they include, Rt Hon Stanley Ohajuruka and Rt Hon Ude Okochukwu.
As we leave Abians to judge the performance of the 7th Assembly in days, weeks, months and years to come.
8th Assembly.
Hostilities will resume next week as the race for who becomes the Speaker & Deputy Speaker of the 8th Abia House of Assembly enters its final gear, meetings has been held from Hotel de laurel Aba down to FCT the city center.
Without the 7th Assembly amending its rule book to accommodate first timers to aspire to be speaker, will it be a two horse race between Hon Solomon Akpulonu and Hon Goddy ADIELE or will Mandela Obasi and Emmanuel Ndubuisi join the race or will the Rule book be amended the night? Well na Abia we Dey, nothing can be ruled out.
What is the game plan of Labour Party as their silence means a lot.
Join us next week.
