A former Member of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Jerry Uzosike has accused the former speaker of the 6th Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chikwendu Kalu of collecting money to change the rules of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly.
Hon Uzosike while addressing his followers on Facebook, alleged that the former Speaker collected money to change the House rules just to favor a particular individual.
He said“Rt Hon Chikwendu Kalu during execution sections says all manner of things, but when he comes to the plenary he will not say a word, he collected money to change the House to change the House rules just to Favor an individual”.
The 7th Abia state House of Assembly, which started on a good note in 2019, became a shadow of its own in May 2023, when it was alleged that 18 members of the House Impeached the Speaker, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji the impeachment took place at Emeka Omeruo Government guest House factory road umuahia, same day the speaker in return suspended members of the House that took part in the alleged Impeachment process excluding Hon Emeka Okoroafor, Rt Hon Orji led faction also Impeached the Deputy Speaker of the House Rt Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu and elected Rt Hon Mandela Obasi as Deputy Speaker.
