Breaking: Abia PDP Chairman in a Closed Door Meeting with Abia Assembly Members Of the Party

The state Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Abia state, Rt Hon Asiforo Okere is in a closed door meeting with the 11 members of the Abia state House of Assembly elected under the platform of PDP.
The meeting is currently being held at the Party’s headquarters, St. Finbars road, Umuahia.
Top on the agenda is the issue of Principal Officers of the 8th Abia State House of Assembly, The PDP members of the Abia state House of Assembly is led by the former Majority Leader of the 7th Assembly and Member Representing Obingwa East State Constituency Hon Solomon Akpulonu.
According to our sources at the Party Secretariat, the State Chairman Rt Hon Asiforo Okere may likely announce the principal officers of the 8th Assembly.
The members 8th Abia State House of Assembly in the past two weeks have been at a cross road with each other after the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Emmanuel Emereuwa Announced à member of the Minority, Hon Uchenna Okoro of the Labour Party as the leader of the house, that announcement didn’t go down well with the members of the PDP who are majority in the Assembly.
The Member representing obingwa East State Constituency yesterday informed the press that the members will approach the Leadership of the Party in the State to announce principal officers of the House as regards to PDP, which is the majority party at the 8th Assembly.
The 8th House of Assembly as it stands today, PDP 11, Labour Party 10, YPP 2, APC 1.
