The Member representing Isiala Ngwa South state Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Rowland Chinwendu has called on the speaker of the State House, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa to adhere strictly to the laid down rules of the House and do the right thing in other to restore peace in the 8th House.
Hon. Chinwendu who made the call while addressing newsmen in Umuahia over the weekend, pointed out that the Speaker went against the rules of the house by ignoring letters written to the House by various party’s with regards to the appointment of principal officers of the House.
According to the state Lawmaker, the House is yet to start it’s normal business, which is making laws and since the inauguration of the House, no bill or motion has been presented before the House because of the issues surrounding the appointment of Principal officers of the House.
Reacting to the issues of Salaries and entitlements, Hon. Chinwendu urged Governor Alex Otti to please look into the issues of their entitlements and do something about it. He noted that expectations are very high and there’s need to hit the ground running in their various constituencies, pointing out that without proper allowances due to them, they can’t meet the demands and expectations of their respective constituents.
