The Owerri Division of the Court of Appeal has scheduled Thursday, 3rd August, 2023 to hear the appeal filed by Chinedu Onyeizu of the Labour Party, challenging the striking out of his petition at the tribunal.
The panel had on June 23, struck out Onyeizu’s petition, which challenges the declaration of Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of APGA, as the winner of the February 25 senatorial election for Abia South, on technical grounds, against hearing it on merit.
Recall that at the commencement of the panel’s sitting on June 23 Onyeizu addressed the panel where he alleged bias and expressed loss of confidence in the panel, and further requested the transfer of his petition to another panel where his petition would, according to him, be impartially heard, but was overruled by the panel.
