NLC Abia State Chapter gives clarity on the planned 2-day Nationwide warning strike and faulted the Government for meddling into their affairs.
The Nigeria Labour Congress Abia State Chapter in a letter sent to affiliate unions and co-signed by the state Chairperson Comr Nweke P. I and the State Secretary Comr Emma Alozie (JP) has directed its members to proceed on sensitization and mobilization of all affiliate members for a 2-day National wide warning strike on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th September 2023.
The letter also stated, “that members are to ensure total withdrawal of services both in the private and public sectors on the aforementioned date”, which all MDA’s and LGA’s are expected to be on shutdown according to the notice.

“The strike action is to protest the removal of subsidy on Premium motor spirit (PMS) by the federal government, and its failure to implement agreements reached with the organized labour and faulted the government for meddling in the internal affairs of their affiliate members; NURTW, NULGE etc”.
