The National Assembly Election Petition tribunal sitting in Umuahia the Abia state Capital will today, Today, Monday 11th of September 2023, deliver its judgment on the petition filed by the candidate of the PDP in the 2023 National Assembly Election Col Augustine Akobundu RTD.
Akobundu is challenging the election of Senator Darlington Nwokocha as the Senator Representing Abia Central Senatorial District in the red chamber.
Senator Darlington Nwokocha was declared winner of Abia Central senatorial election under the platform of the Labour Party, defeating his closest rival Col Augustine Akobundu of the PDP with a wide margin.
According to results announced by INEC, Senator Darlington Nwokocha of Labour Party scored 92,116 votes, while Col Augustine Akobundu of PDP 41,477 votes.
