Chief Kalu Idika Okwara is a consummate civil servant, technocrat, philanthropist and community leader. He has acquired a wealth of bureaucratic experience spanning over 25 years and has garnered extensive Insight into the oil and gas industry having been a career staff at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), rising through the ranks and reaching the peak of his career in spectacular fashion.
While at the NNPC, he has led several delicate projects and has been part of tactical teams for more than a decade. He has been at the forefront of the formulation and implementation of quintessential policies, risk management strategies, and corporate governance for more than two decades.
Chief Kalu Idika attended the Federal Polytechnic, Calabar (now Crutech).
Where he acquired a Diploma in Legal Studies and the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa where he obtained a National and Higher National Diploma in Marketing. He also holds an MBA (Management) from Nasarawa State University.
He has an arduous leadership track record that sets him apart and places him firmly in the upper echelon of enigmatic leaders, still serving in varying capacities today in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He pioneered Abia Coalition Movement (ACM); A pressure group with an ostentatious mandate of ensuring Good Governance. He currently serves as the 1st Vice President of Ohafia Improvement Union (Abuja branch) and is a council member of the Upe Autonomous Kingdom in Ngor Okpoala, Imo state with the title “EZIENYI 1 OF UPE KINGDOM”; And has been conferred with the title Udo-Mba 1 of Amaibe Kingdom by the governing chieftaincy committee of Amaibe autonomous community of Ohafia local government area, Abia state.
Chief Kalu Idika has numerous philanthropic endeavors as he continues his vicarious strides, making sure he leaves humanity better than he found it. For several years, he has actively donated resources that have ensured the sustenance of countless families across Ohafia communities and has done so without any cry for laudation.
In 2020 he founded the Kalu Idika Foundation (KIF). A foundation whose core values hinge on integrity, fairness and accountability as well as a dire devotion to social responsibility.
The foundation has since carried out outreach programs that have benefited the less privileged, widows and orphans across Abia state and beyond. Families have been provided with fitting shelters and children are still benefiting from his
scholarship scheme. Through the foundation, he has also provided millions of naira, financing several local business startups and continues to do so.
He currently partners with Family Rescue Aflame Foundation (FRAF). A non governmental organization that works to promote the wellbeing of the female child, widows and the aged in society. Together, they organize summits and
outreaches that remains of tremendous benefit to individuals, families and the general society.
Chief Kalu Idika’s antecedents for exemplary leadership are glaring and he continues to personify humility. He is happily married and blessed with children.
