Mr. Okey Ezea also known as Ideke had been a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2005 till 2007 when he attempted to breach the zoning agreement of the state on power sharing. Even then till his most recent sojourn into the newly resurrected Labour Party while riding on the good fortunes brought to it by the advent of Mr Peter Obi as its presidential candidate .

This sort of desperation for everything including political power as is in his nature, he had hoped to contest for the seat of the Governor for Enugu state he wanted to contest Enugu governorship seat on the PDP platform in 2007 against the governorship zoning arrangement in the state that favoured Enugu West Senatorial zone to produce Governor. Seeing that he would not have his way, Mr Ezea left for Labour Party and lost out in clinching the party’s ticket.

In light of losing out in the election primaries in 2007 with Labour Party, in 2011, he defected from Labour Party to now defunct Progressives Peoples Alliance (PPA) where he contested governorship election again and lost again.

In what that has become his political trademark and hobby- junketing from Party to party with no meaningful source of livelihood, he switched to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in high hopes he would contest and win against the incumbent governor of Enugu state , HE Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a strange twist of fates over the years, fortunes smiled on him albeit momentarily as he got APC governorship ticket, contested the governorship election and lost to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of PDP.

Mr Ezea was immediately abandoned by his party members and supporters for embezzling the party money provided by the party national leadership to run the party and campaigns in the state.
That was why APC led Federal government abandoned him and refused to recognize or compensate him with any appointment that was given to its governorship candidates that lost elections across the country.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in his benevolence and generosity sustained him since then till he jumped into Labour Party recently to illegally displace Mr. Ernest Ugwu as Labour Party Senatorial candidate for Enugu North zone.

Since he managed to manipulate the Labour Party leadership in the state to get the senatorial ticket, Mr Ezea has since taken to maligning and impungning on the person and character of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who is also the senatorial candidate of the PDP for the same district that Mr Ezea seeks to represent in the 10th Assembly.

In like manner like his other counterpart in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr Frank Nweke Jnr II. Mr Ezea has refused to focus on telling people of Nsukka that he seeks to represent what he intends to do for them as their senatorial representative (that is if he ever gets to win).

A man who has been unable to offer anything meaningful or developmental to his people suddenly seeks to represent them and make laws for them and other Nigerians ?

Mr Ezea’s repugnant character is widely known to all and sundry.

While it is okay for Mr Ezea and his band of bandwagoners hope in derision and what this writer calls delusions of granduer, is that they’d piggyback on the Peter Obi new found waves on social media to get to power.

Obi is Labour Party. There is no Labour Party without Obi. The likes of Ideke and his co-travellers are not Labour Party and cannot be because they are tainted and lacked integrity. They are liabilities and burdens to Obi.

Calling Ugwuanyi names and impugning his hard-earned reputation as seen in recent video will not help Mr Ezea to climb to power. Mr Ezea ought have depended on the benefits of hindsight and remember that he has toed this path before and failed.

Toeing it again simply means that Mr Ezea has not learnt anything all these years he was in political hibernation.

It is enough to say categorically that by 2023, Mr Ezea will certainly go into political extinction with his cohorts in Enugu North Senatorial zone.
