The Federal Government has declared Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, 2024, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended his congratulations to all Muslim Ummah both at home and abroad on behalf of the Federal Government.
In his statement, Dr. Tunji-Ojo called on the Muslim Ummah to embody the spirit of peace, kindness, and sacrifice, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). He urged Muslims to use this period to pray for unity, prosperity, and stability in Nigeria.
The Minister assured the public that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is dedicated to safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians.
While wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-ul-Adha celebration, Dr. Tunji-Ojo advised all Nigerians to take responsibility in the quest to ensure a prosperous Nigeria for future generations.
