The Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) has issued a public service announcement inviting qualified applicants to fill various ad-hoc positions for the upcoming 2024 Local Government Chairmanship and Councillorship elections.
The available positions and their respective qualifications are as follows:
1. **Local Government Area Returning Officers (LGRO)**
– **Academic Qualification:** Officers in the Public Service not below Salary Grade level 13 with at least a B.Sc./HND from any recognized University or Higher Institution.
– **Additional Requirement:** Ownership of a functional vehicle is essential.
2. **Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO)**
– **Academic Qualification:** At least a first degree certificate from any recognized University or Higher National Diploma from any recognized Polytechnic.
– **Additional Requirements:** Must be mobile and possess commensurate working experience in election-related duties.
3. **Presiding Officer (PO)**
– **Academic Qualification:** At least a first degree certificate from any recognized University or Higher National Diploma from any recognized Polytechnic.
– **Additional Requirement:** Good working experience in election-related duties.
4. **Assistant Presiding Officers (APO)**
– **Academic Qualification:** Must possess either an OND and/or SSCE and have a good working experience in election-related duties.
Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their applications to the Chairman of ISIEC at 21 Orlu Road, Owerri, within two weeks from the announcement date. Applications should be submitted through the Electoral Officer in the applicant’s respective Local Government Area of origin.
