… Sets Up Six-Man Investigation Committee

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the suspension of its National Vice Chairman (South South), Chief Dan Orbih, during its 588th meeting held today, Wednesday, July 10, 2024. The decision comes in response to complaints and issues regarding Chief Orbih’s activities related to the upcoming September 21, 2024, Governorship election in Edo State.

During the meeting, the NWC unanimously condemned Chief Orbih’s actions and statements concerning the Edo State Governorship Primary Election. The NWC described these actions as inconsistent with the PDP’s Constitution (as amended in 2017) and unbecoming of a national officer of the Party.

In light of these developments, the NWC has established a six-member investigation committee headed by Deputy National Chairman (South), Amb. Taofeek Arapaja. This committee will investigate the matter in accordance with the provisions of the Party’s Constitution.

Pending the outcome of the investigation, Chief Dan Orbih has been suspended from participating in all meetings, activities, and programs of the NWC.

The NWC expressed its gratitude to the people of Edo State for their overwhelming support and solidarity with the PDP and its candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo. The Committee emphasized that Dr. Ighodalo’s vision aligns with the aspirations of the people for continued development in the state.

The NWC urged all leaders, stakeholders, and members of the PDP in Edo State to remain united and focused, and to work diligently towards securing victory for the Party and its candidate in the September 21, 2024, Governorship election.
