The Court of Appeal in Abuja has affirmed Usman Ododo as the duly elected governor of Kogi State. In a judgment delivered on Thursday, a three-member panel of the appellate court dismissed the petition filed by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its governorship candidate, Murtala Ajaka.
The SDP and Ajaka had challenged the validity of Ododo’s election, seeking to overturn the results. However, the appellate court found no merit in their petition and upheld the original election results, confirming Ododo as the legitimate governor of Kogi State.
This ruling reinforces the outcome of the gubernatorial election and solidifies Usman Ododo’s position as the elected leader of Kogi State.
