The Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC) has received commendations for its ongoing impactful development projects in Asa Land, the oil-producing Local Government Area of the state.

During a visit to one of the commission’s projects, Dr. Gregory Enyinnaya, a stakeholder from the area, expressed his happiness with the reconstruction of the Obehie Ezendioma 144 Battalion road in Ukwa West LGA. He highlighted that the residents have faced severe hardships due to the dilapidated state of the road over the years and thanked the State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for addressing the issue through ASOPADEC.

Dr. Enyinnaya, who hails from Umuada Isi Obehie Autonomous Community, voiced the community’s hope that the road project would be completed on time, significantly boosting the area’s economic activities. He also pledged their loyalty and support to the Labour Party, led by the General Manager of ASOPADEC, Venerable Joshua Onyeike, and the administration of Governor Alex Otti.

The CEO of Anstro Global Concept and contractor for the road project, Mr. Anselem Eletue, stated that work has commenced with the drainage system, followed by earthwork. He expressed gratitude to the General Manager of ASOPADEC for awarding the contract to him, a local, and assured the community of delivering quality work.

Mr. Eletue praised Venerable Joshua Onyeike for his efforts in transforming ASOPADEC since assuming office, citing achievements such as the reconstruction of Umuokomiri Obehie road, sustaining the commission’s scholarship scheme, constructing water boreholes in and around Ukwa Land, and ongoing projects like the Asa Civic Center in Obehie.

Engr. Emeka Gberemako, the Director of Works, expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the road project. He noted minor observations requiring corrections, emphasizing that this is the purpose of the inspection.
