Nigerian passport holders can now obtain visas to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) effective today. This announcement was made at the Presidential Villa by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who confirmed that an agreement has been reached between the governments of Nigeria and the UAE.

The UAE imposed a blanket visa ban on Nigerians in October 2022, followed by Emirates Airlines suspending flight operations to Nigeria in November 2022. The lifting of the ban marks a significant step in restoring diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries.

Minister Idris expressed optimism about the renewed cooperation and the positive impact it will have on travel and business for Nigerians. The resolution is expected to enhance bilateral ties and facilitate smoother interactions between Nigeria and the UAE.
