In a determined effort to combat crime, the Abia State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, paraded a number of crime suspects and exhibits on Friday, July 26, 2024. The event was held at the Command Headquarters in Umuahia and was presented by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chioma Chinaka.

The Command has made significant strides in reducing incidents of armed robbery, kidnapping, vandalism of government properties, child trafficking, rape, and defilement. Numerous suspects have been arrested, and a variety of exhibits have been recovered, including firearms of different specifications, vehicles, railroad sleepers, and substances suspected to be illicit drugs. Additionally, trafficked children have been safely rescued.

Several cases have been charged to various courts, resulting in successful prosecutions, underscoring the Command’s commitment to justice and public safety.

The Abia State Police Command continues to urge the public to support their efforts in maintaining peace and security in the state.
