The Plateau State Police Command has apprehended Suleiman Yakubu, a 34-year-old resident of Jos North, in connection with a viral TikTok video that allegedly incited violence in anticipation of a nationwide protest.

The video, which surfaced on July 27, 2024, on the TikTok account “Dam-Mallam68,” urged viewers to attack security personnel and destroy critical state and private infrastructure in Plateau State. The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, responded swiftly by deploying tactical teams to track down and arrest the individual responsible.

Yakubu was captured on July 28, 2024, at approximately 11:30 AM on Ahmadu Bello Way, Jos, following a tip-off from a reliable informant. During questioning, Yakubu admitted to being featured in the inflammatory video. The investigation is ongoing.

CP Adesina emphasized the police’s commitment to preventing any disruption of peace and order in the state. He urged residents to maintain peace and avoid making provocative statements that could threaten state security.
