The national electricity grid experienced another collapse on Monday, leaving several parts of the country without power.
An official from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) confirmed the incident, describing it as a partial collapse. The TCN official, who requested anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to the press, assured that efforts are underway to restore power gradually.
Observations indicate that total power generation on the grid fell to zero as of 1:33 pm on Monday. This marks the fifth grid collapse in 2024.
