The wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti has urged women to use the August meeting period as a time to celebrate their roles and rejuvenate their sense of responsibility.
Speaking at the St. Simon Anglican Church Ohanku, Ndoki, in Ukwa East LGA during the Home/Abroad August Women Conference, Mrs Otti emphasized the importance of women understanding their inherent value and contributing meaningfully to their families and communities to foster a balanced society.
The wife of the Governor represented by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, Mrs Matilda Anyamele while describing women as vital partners in the current administration in the state, highlighted Governor Alex Otti’s initiatives designed to remove obstacles and create opportunities for women’s personal and professional growth.
The First Lady expressed hope that the conference would be a pivotal moment for setting actionable goals and fostering collaborative efforts for global impact.
She further encouraged women to be exemplary representatives of their state and homes, to raise virtuous children, and to acquire skills for financial security.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu urged women to be impactful mothers, noting that their actions today shape their future.
In their goodwill messages, the Mayor of Ukwa East LGA, Dame Ngozi Nwagbara and Deputy Mayor, Mr. Onyebuchi Nna underscored that empowering women is crucial for justice, development, and societal progress, and encouraged women to propose innovative ideas for local and state development.
The conference also attracted the presence of the Labor Party State Financial Secretary, Mr. Chibunna Akara and other key stakeholders from Ukwa East LGA.
