…. Alleges Salary Withholding and Court Order Disobedience

In a recent appearance on Channels Television’s flagship program Politics Today, Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, made startling revelations regarding his relationship with Governor Godwin Obaseki. Shaibu claimed that he played a crucial role in Obaseki’s emergence as governor, stating, “We made Obaseki governor. Obaseki was not a politician or financially strong enough to contest the election. Oshiomhole brought him. He was not the one who made me; I made him. I was asked to be his Deputy to add political value.”

In addition to his assertions about Obaseki’s political origins, Shaibu accused the governor of withholding his salary and entitlements as Deputy Governor for one year. He further alleged that Obaseki has disobeyed a court order that reinstated him as the Deputy Governor of Edo State.

These allegations come amidst escalating tensions between Shaibu and Obaseki, raising concerns about the stability of the Edo State administration.
