In a firm stance against corruption, the Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into allegations of bribery and corruption within the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS). This directive follows serious accusations of misconduct, with the Minister vowing zero tolerance for any form of indiscipline or unprofessional behavior.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo condemned the alleged actions, emphasizing that transparency, integrity, and accountability remain core values of the Ministry. He reassured the public that those found guilty will face severe consequences, adding, “We will leave no stone unturned in rooting out corruption and ensuring that those found culpable face the full wrath of the law.”

The investigation will be led by a special panel headed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, and will include other high-profile members such as Dr. Uju Agomoh of the Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action (PRAWA), Mrs. Eva Omotese, Director of Legal Services, and Dr. Ikechukwu Ezeugo of the Brekete Family Show.

The Minister assured that the investigation will be thorough, transparent, and impartial, with appropriate actions to be taken against any personnel found guilty of misconduct.
