Popular Nigerian socialite, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, widely known as Bobrisky, has issued a defamation notice demanding N1 billion in damages from social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman. The letter, dated September 27, 2024, was sent via Bobrisky’s legal representatives at R.T. Omuvwie & Co.
In the legal document, Bobrisky accuses Verydarkman of defamatory and blackmailing content, alleging that a video and audio recording released by Otse falsely depicted damaging information about the socialite. Bobrisky claims to have suffered immense personal and professional harm due to these publications.
The letter demands that Verydarkman retracts his statements, issue a public apology in two national dailies, and remove the content from all social media platforms. Bobrisky’s lawyers further insist that Otse must pay the N1 billion sum within 24 hours of receiving the letter, or face legal action.
The feud escalated after Verydarkman allegedly threatened to release incriminating materials if a demanded sum was not paid, a claim Bobrisky vehemently denies, describing the audio as artificially generated.
Bobrisky’s legal team has warned of imminent court proceedings should their demands not be met, underscoring the severity of the accusations and the socialite’s commitment to clearing his name.
