The Young Progressive Party (YPP) in Abia State has issued a statement refuting allegations made by Nwokeukwu Mascot Nnamdi regarding supposed demands by the party’s State Chairman concerning Local Government Areas and candidates.
In the press release, the YPP made it clear that Nwokeukwu Mascot Nnamdi is not a member of the party and therefore lacks any authority to speak on its behalf. The party labeled the claims as baseless and misleading.
Clarification on Party Operations
The YPP emphasized its well-established structure, noting its presence across 184 wards in Abia State. The party reiterated its openness to welcoming new members and reaffirmed its commitment to its core ideologies.
Furthermore, the statement suggested that the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti OFR, would significantly benefit from joining the YPP, a move that the party believes would enhance his chances for re-election in 2027.
A Call for Ethical Journalism
The YPP also called on Nwokeukwu Mascot Nnamdi and other journalists to adhere to ethical journalism standards by verifying information before publication to prevent the spread of misinformation.
Reaffirming Party Ideals
Concluding the statement, Bestman Eruba Esq., the State Publicity Secretary of YPP Abia, reaffirmed the commitment of the party’s leadership to uphold its ideals and continue pursuing a vision of progressive governance and service to the people.
