The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed awareness of an incident between a Bolt driver, Mr. Stephen Abuwatseya, and Hon. Alexander Ikwegh. The altercation reportedly occurred on October 27, 2024, in Maitama, Abuja. Following Mr. Abuwatseya’s official complaint, the FCT Police Command is actively investigating the matter at the Maitama Divisional Headquarters.
Force Public Relations Officer, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, emphasized that the Police Force condemns any misuse of authority and urges the public to avoid using the office or name of the Inspector-General of Police for intimidation. Such acts, he stated, compromise the impartiality and integrity of the IGP’s office.
The Police Force has assured the public of a thorough and unbiased investigation into the case.
