The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government. In a statement issued on Monday, the Minister congratulated all Muslims in Nigeria and across the globe on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, one of Islam’s most significant festivals.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged the Muslim faithful to emulate the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, and faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him), and to use the period for prayers towards national peace and prosperity.
He also reiterated the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to its people-oriented reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at placing Nigeria firmly on the path of progress and development.
While wishing the Muslim Ummah a joyous and peaceful celebration, the Minister encouraged all Nigerians to support the current administration in its mission to restore the nation’s glory.
The statement was signed by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior.
