Former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has issued a defiant response to mounting criticism over his continued membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that no one has the authority or influence to expel him from the party.

Speaking during a media chat in Abuja on Monday morning, Wike dismissed suggestions that he could be removed from the PDP, questioning the contributions of those calling for his expulsion compared to his own.

“I have not seen anybody who will have the guts to tell me, ‘Wike, you are not a member of the party.’ Who is that? What is his contribution to the party that is more than me?” he stated emphatically.

Wike’s comments come amid tensions within the PDP and criticisms over his perceived alignment with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) despite his prominent role in the opposition party. His political maneuvers have drawn sharp rebukes from some PDP members, who accuse him of undermining party unity.

The FCT Minister, however, insists he remains a loyal PDP member and maintains that his critics lack the moral or political standing to question his status within

the party.
