The Concerned Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, have issued a strong demand for the party to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the southern region of the country.

Rising from a high-level meeting in Abuja, the group released a communiqué read by Wike himself, stressing that the PDP must uphold equity and fairness by announcing the zoning of its presidential ticket to the South ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the communiqué, the group also called on the party’s Acting National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, and the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, to jointly notify the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the party’s plans to convene a National Convention, with the agenda clearly outlined.

Part of the communiqué reads:

“PDP must announce the zoning of the presidential ticket for 2027 to the South.

The Acting National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, and the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, should jointly notify INEC for a meeting of the National Convention with the agenda of the meeting clearly stated.”

The meeting was attended by former and serving  senators of the national Assembly, former Governors of Abia, Enugu and Venue state and host of others.
