President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing into law bills establishing three new federal institutions in the South East.
The institutions include the Federal College of Education, Bende, and the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Item Bende, both in Abia State, as well as the Federal University, Okigwe in Imo State.
Akpabio also commended the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, for sponsoring two of the bills, and praised other lawmakers such as Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Senator Osita Ngwu, and Senator Patrick Ndubueze for their leadership and commitment.
He described the development as a major step towards enhancing education, healthcare, and regional development in the South East, while reaffirming support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
