Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has approved the appointment of Colonel Dan Didiugwu (rtd) as Chairman and DCP Olamitisoji Akinbamilayo, PhD (rtd) as Commander of the Enugu State Forest Guard.
While Didiugwu’s appointment awaits confirmation by the State House of Assembly, Akinbamilayo’s role takes immediate effect. The move is part of the state government’s broader efforts to enhance forest and environmental security.
The office of Commander now replaces the former role of State Coordinator, which has been officially scrapped.
Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, expressed confidence in the appointees’ ability to reposition the Forest Guard for greater efficiency and responsiveness.
