The Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a statement denouncing recent comments made by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba. The comments in question pertained to the party’s scheduled 100th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting and the party’s position on communications from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the statement, the comments were made without the authority or approval of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party. The Acting Chairman emphasized that the comments were premature and lacked due consultation, particularly given that a meeting has already been scheduled for Tuesday, June 24, 2025, between party leaders, stakeholders, the Acting National Chairman of PDP, and the Chairman of INEC to address the concerns raised in the letter sent to the party.
The Acting Chairman expressed shock and disappointment that such a sensitive matter was addressed publicly without recourse to establish internal processes or the leadership of the party. He categorically stated that the views expressed by Hon. Debo Ologunagba do not reflect the official position of the party.
