Maduka Okoye Named Enugu State Ambassador, Set to Launch Football Academ

The Governor of Enugu State today received Super Eagles and Udinese star goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, at the Lion Building, describing him as a “true son of Enugu” and a global pride.

 

During the visit, Okoye unveiled plans to launch a charitable foundation and establish a football academy in Enugu, aimed at mentoring young talents and nurturing future football stars.

 

In recognition of his achievements and philanthropic vision, the governor appointed him as an Ambassador of Enugu State. He noted that Okoye will serve as a role model to young learners, especially in the state’s Smart Green Schools.

 

To support the proposed academy, the state government has committed to providing land for the project. Okoye was also invited to participate in the upcoming Enugu International Marathon, which will attract elite athletes from around the world.

 

“With proud sons like Maduka Okoye, Enugu is truly rising,” the governor affirmed.
