The Nigerian Senate has approved a ₦1.485 trillion budget for Rivers State for the 2025 fiscal year. This followed the consideration of the report by the Ad-Hoc Committee on Rivers State during the Committee of Supply session.
The approved bill authorizes the issuance of ₦1,485,662,592,442 from the state’s Consolidated Revenue Fund for the financial year ending December 31, 2025.
Breakdown of the budget shows ₦120.8 billion allocated for debt servicing, ₦287.38 billion for recurrent (non-debt) spending, and ₦1.077 trillion earmarked for capital projects.
