ABUJA – Tension flared at the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday, as the party’s caucus meeting descended into chaos following the forceful ejection of some members from the National Executive Committee (NEC) hall.

The meeting, scheduled to hold at the NEC hall in Abuja, had commenced with members arriving in anticipation of high-level deliberations. However, pandemonium broke out when security operatives, acting on the directive of protocol officers, forcibly removed two individuals alleged to have no official business at the gathering.

Eyewitnesses say the scuffle intensified as the individuals resisted attempts to remove them, resulting in the shattering of the glass entrance door to the NEC hall.

It remains unclear what triggered the crackdown or the identities of those ejected, but sources within the party suggest internal disagreements may have fueled the confrontation.

More details to follow.
