Abuja, July 1, 2025 – The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA has again refuted claims that any parcel of land has been allocated to the children of the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, described the allegations as “sponsored blackmail” aimed at tarnishing the Minister’s image and undermining his developmental strides in the territory.

Olayinka maintained that the ongoing campaign linking the Minister’s children to land allocations is baseless and unfounded. “Last week, it was a fabricated story that Wike allocated 2,082 hectares of land in Asokoro and Maitama to one of his sons — even though such a volume of land does not exist in both districts combined,” he said.

He clarified that the document being circulated referred to land allocated for agricultural purposes in Bwari Area Council to a company known as JOAQ Farms, not to any relative of the Minister.

“This week, the narrative has shifted to another son, based on documents showing the allocation of land to Jordan Farms and Estates Limited. But let it be clear: no land has been allocated to any of the Minister’s children,” Olayinka asserted.

He emphasized that Jordan Farms and Estates Limited is a duly registered company in Nigeria and that none of the FCT Minister’s children are listed as directors. “That the Minister has a son named Jordan does not mean he owns every company bearing that name,” Olayinka added.

To further debunk the claims, he challenged those behind the allegations to obtain and publish the company’s ownership records from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). “I am Lere Olayinka, and there is Lere Local Government in Kaduna. Does that mean I own it or even come from there?” he asked rhetorically.

He also addressed reports citing the name of one of the Minister’s security aides appearing on land documents, stating that helping to collect property papers does not equate to ownership.

Olayinka concluded by alleging that the smear campaign is being driven by political opponents, particularly one from Adamawa State, who are displeased with the Minister’s support for power rotation between the North and South. “Just like last week, this attempt too has collapsed before it even began,”  he said.
