The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has disassociated itself from a list of purported State Chairmen currently circulating on social media, warning the public to beware of fraudulent schemes being peddled in the party’s name.

In a press release signed by its National Publicity Secretary and spokesperson of the opposition coalition, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC stated categorically that it is unaware of any such appointments and has not authorized any announcement of State Chairmen at this time.

“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) wishes to make it known to the public that the party is not aware of any appointment of State Chairmen as being circulated on the social media space,” the statement read.

The party expressed concern over the spread of fake news online and urged Nigerians to verify all party-related information through its official communication channels, particularly the verified X (formerly Twitter) handle of the National Publicity Secretary, @BolajiADC.

“Any information that does not emanate from the appropriate communication channels of the party and verified on the X page of the National Publicity Secretary should be disregarded,” the statement emphasized.

The ADC also condemned, in strong terms, reports that certain individuals have set up fictitious online platforms to extort money from unsuspecting citizens under the guise of registering them as party members.

Describing such acts as criminal, the party cautioned Nigerians to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to scammers. It assured the public that details of legitimate party activities and coalition efforts would be made known through trusted and transparent channels.

The ADC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and the protection of citizens from political fraud, reiterating its resolve to hold accountable anyone caught misrepresenting the party for selfish gain.
