Port Harcourt, July 14, 2025 — The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, has congratulated the newly inaugurated chairman and members of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).

Governor Fubara, in a statement issued from Government House, Port Harcourt, expressed confidence in the ability of the commission to deliver free, fair, and credible local government elections in the state.
He charged the commission to remain neutral and professional in the discharge of its duties, ensuring a level playing field for all candidates and political parties participating in the electoral process.
The governor emphasized the importance of upholding democratic principles and called on the RSIEC leadership to conduct themselves with integrity and fairness in order to deepen public trust in the state’s democratic institutions.
