Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, will no longer be defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as earlier speculated, following opposition from the state chapter of the party led by former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, who rejected his Defection to the Party.

Reliable sources within the APC confirmed that intense internal resistance, particularly from key stakeholders loyal to Oyetola, thwarted Adeleke’s planned move to the ruling party.
Governor Adeleke, who had reportedly concluded plans to join the APC this month, has now resolved to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a surprising political twist, however, the governor publicly declared his endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 presidential polls.
Naijadailyng247 had earlier reported that the Osun governor was making moves to cross over to the APC, a development that triggered mixed reactions across the state’s political landscape.
