Speaking at the APC National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja — where the party produced a new national chairman — the President said the move was strategic and timely.
“Today, we have 23 governors and are still counting. We postponed the congress until December to accommodate more members who are coming,” Tinubu stated.
He took a swipe at opposition parties, describing them as disorganized and unstable. “It’s not a bad idea to abandon the sinking ship and be absent from the coalition of confusion,” he added, in an apparent reference to defections from rival political groups to the APC.
President Tinubu urged party stakeholders to remain united and focused on consolidating the party’s gains across the country.
